An extremely rare 'Leier in Blattkranz' stater

CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 7.56 g), 'Leier in Blattkranz' type. Lyre to right within a wreath formed of two branches with eight leaves going in opposite directions and with a disc at each end. Rev. Six pellets within torque with pellet at each end; all within shallow incuse. Dembski -. Flesche 316. Karl -. LT pl. XXIX, V, 20. SLM 1076. Extremely rare. A beautiful example of this very unusual issue. Area of weakness on the obverse and with light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
